Baloji at 'Les Suds à Arles' festival, France

Baloji au festival Les Suds à Arles

Baloji was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and now lives in Belgium. He's passionate about poetry and politics, and recorded an album, Kinshasa Branch, with musicians from Kinshasa, Larousse Marciano and other talented musicians and singers.

African music is refreshing and has diverse poetic roots, traditional and urban. Between traditional Congolese rhythms (rap, soukous, afrobeat or rumba), soul sensuality and pop arrangements, Baloji - whose name means, sorcerer - successful mix of genres and emotions ... A delicate alchemy, committed and stylish! He sometimes performs with brass instruments and sometimes without, as here is this festival performance. Nevertheless, Baloji has immense presence and sensuality on stage.
